Rameses Revenge Removed
Sunday 15th March 2020
Over the closed season at Chessington work has been underway to remove Rameses Revenge and prepare the site ready for construction of the new drop tower ride, which is set to open 2021. Construction fences have been installed around the ride area and Rameses Revenge has been cut out with the rides hardware plc units ripped out of the control cabin.

Signage and theming for the ride remain behind the walls, hopefully, over the next few weeks these will be removed and put up for auction for some hardcore enthusiasts to purchase.

Rameses Revenge Spins One Last Time
Sunday 3rd November 2019
Rameses Revenge is now closed! In 1995 Rameses Revenge opened at Chessington World Of Adventures. Manufactured by Huss rides, when it opened it was the worlds first top spin ride to feature an interactive water element, wetting guests brave enough to sit in the middle of the gondola.

When the ride opened in 1995, Rameses used to look very different to what it does now, with snakes scaling the supports of the ride and a different colour scheme.

From the ride opening in 1995 to closing today, the front row has always been the best place to sit! One of our team members has been riding it every year for 24 years! Bonus points if you can spot who. Clue… its the same seat in both photos!

Drop Tower To Replace Rameses Revenge
Thursday 5th September 2019
Recently submitted plans to the council show that Chessington World of Adventures is planning to remove Rameses Revenge the last remaining Top Spin in the UK and replace it with a brand new attraction. A drop tower ride similar to Maga at Paultons Park. The new attraction looks to be themed around crocodiles, an animal yet to be seen at the Zoo.

If approved the ride will be located in the pit currently occupied by Rameses Revenge which has been operating since 1995. The installation of this new attraction would also see the Flying Jumbos ride be removed and relocated to a new location. Its 4th move since being installed in the park.

Previously the ride was located in Toy Town which is now the Africa stage featuring the Gruffalo Grove show. Over the past few years, the park has been retheming old rides and enhancing the animal experiences around the park. Since the introduction of Zufari, all major rides have been reimaged to have animal experiences with them such as Tiger Rock and Scorpion Express.
