The Smiler ride cars unveiled
Thursday 28th March 2013
The Smiler was due to open in March but due to problems with the site and the weather everything got a bit behind schedule. However progress on the ride has now picked up pace and the cars for the ride have now arrived on site! Unlike other typical Gerstlauer cars these are 4 by 4 cars so 16 people can ride in one car rather than the normal 8, the cars overall look fantastic and will definitely stand out from any other ride in the UK once open. The park hasn't given a open date for the ride yet but it looks like it could be the end of May however the park have said that the ride will have soft openings all yet to be confirmed! With supports now in place above the toilet block track has now been installed for the drops from the first and second lift hill.

Sunday 17th February 2013
Since our update just yesterday there have been more supports added above the toilet block. With security walking up and down the grass bank and asking people to move along the site is looking like a hive of activity now! We can only but guess the amount of work going on inside of X Sector but we expect its all hands on deck.

Ride Supports Going Up
Saturday 16th February 2013
Today is the first day of the parks February half term event which gives us a great view of the SW7 from a distance. Since nothing in the area is open for the event you have to just walk past it on your way to the Cloud Cuckoo Land area. Supports are currently being added to the toilet end of the site. In relation to other supports these one are quite funny looking!

The game is set to come out February 2013, however with the news of the name comes great disappointment which as been being rumored for the past few weeks!

Smiley Face Appears On Sheep
Saturday 19th January 2013
Once again the theme parks are starting up there marketing for there new attractions for 2013. However Alton Towers has beaten everyone to it this year and has started the earliest they ever have in the middle of January, unlike the typical tv adverts which limits the audience to families and even then only people watching the adverts and popular tv channels will see them. This year the resort have taken to the more extreme and rather cool way of advertising there ride of spray painting the cheshire cat smile on sheep and broadcasting an image of it over the park during the busy sumer months and during there scarefest. The new ride is expected to open 16th March 2013 and is set to be another worlds first for the resort, in other news the park have recently projected the symbol in London in covent gardens and on the side of waterloo train station. We will try get you some close ups of the posters going up around the country when we can hunt them down.
