Chessington 2023 Closed Season Preparations Continue

Chessington World Of Adventures
Wednesday 22nd February 2023

Lots of work is happening around Chessington World of Adventures this closed season, lots of pieces of theming are being repainted and even a rollercoaster has received a paint job.

Starting in the entrance plaza for the hotel car park, the entrance archway and ticket and information buildings have been repainted green. The pathway to the toilets has been levelled to possibly create a new accessible toilet. Old tree stumps have been removed and the squirrel which was previously placed on top of the stump has been moved to the side whilst the works are completed.

In Adnveutre Point the old Safari Skyway station and the building is receiving a lick of paint along with some new theming elements added to it. Green plants have been added to the columns of the building along with a new marbling effect added to the pillars towards the bottom of the building where you enter the arcade.

Shipwrecked Coast is still closed to guests, with Trawler Trouble still removed. It would appear that the foundations for the ride are being remade. SeaStorm is still undergoing its yearly maintenance with the cars and arms for the ride still seen around the area.

Work on repainting Dragons Fury continues with the ride looking nice and fresh! It's a shame the rails for the rollercoaster weren't repainted but the ride looks better than ever. The old maintenance shed for the ride has been removed and new foundations for a new shed can be seen. We expect this new shed/cover will be installed before the new season begins.

The entrance portal for Wild Asia remains under scaffolding, it's currently unknown what's going on but we're crossing our fingers that the original Wild Asia sign that used to hang under the portal returns. Scaoflding remains over some sections of The Kobra which looks like it's having lots of work done to it this closed season.

Tiger Rock's winter maintenance seems to be coming to an end with new metal installed in the final drop zone. And some of the supports for the ride have been repainted a nice orange colour.

Tiny Truckers is slowly being put back together, and Elmers Flying Jumbos appears to be ready for its first guests of the 2023 season.

Over in The Rainforest, Treetop Hoppers have been seen testing and a new animal enclosure has been added to the Jungle Rangers ride area. The boats for River Rafts have been put back on the track ready for testing and water could be seen in the trough for the ride. Scaoflding has also been removed around The Coffee Hut and buildings around the stage area. The new colour scheme looks great, a breath of fresh air for this older area.

In Forbidden Kingdom, the area looks to be receiving a bit of a paint job and refresh with some pillars receiving new designs. It also looks like we might be getting a new shop in a section of the area which hasn't been open since Rameses Revenge closed a few years ago.

Lots and lots of work going on around Chessington, the park reopens for the 2023 season on 23rd March 2023.
