Bluey Coaster Reaches Major Milestone as Train Is Installed
Saturday 14th February 2026
Huge progress has been made on the brand-new Bluey-themed rollercoaster at Alton Towers, and the transformation is becoming more noticeable by the day.

The pathway to the ride remains closed, meaning guests currently need to walk through the Big Show Funtime Arena to access other attractions, but this diversion highlights just how much work is taking place. Most of the construction fencing has now been removed and replaced with a permanent ride-area fence, instantly making the space feel more complete. Grass is also being installed beneath the ride, adding a fresh and finished appearance as the area begins to take shape.

One of the standout additions is the Bluey house, “Heeler House”, which has now been fully completed — and it looks fantastic, just like it does in the videos. Alongside this, the rollercoaster train has been installed, and it’s absolutely huge. Some of the ride cars can already be seen peeking out from the station, giving us our first glimpse of the trains’ colour scheme and building even more excitement.

The clearance envelope tester is currently sat to one side, ready to ensure the ride’s clearance envelope is correct and that guests won’t be able to reach or touch anything during the experience. Meanwhile, two freshly prepared foundation points suggest that additional theming elements are still to come — and we can’t help but wonder what might soon be installed there.

The ride’s exit bridge has also been put into place and looks really smart. We’re particularly intrigued to see what theming or vinyl graphics will be added to both the station and the bridge in the coming weeks.

There is still no confirmed opening date for the attraction, officially named “Bluey the Ride: Here Come the Grannies”, but anticipation is certainly building. We’re also hearing rumours that this could become the first attraction in CBeebies Land to offer Fastrack, which would mark a significant change for the area if confirmed.

Wednesday 21st January 2026
The world-first Bluey coaster at Alton Towers Resort will be officially known as “Bluey the Ride: Here Come the Grannies!”

Bluey fans worldwide have been given a behind the scenes look at the brand-new coaster coming to CBeebies Land in Spring 2026.

In an image released today by Alton Towers Resort, it has been revealed that the world’s-first Bluey-themed coaster, will be known as Bluey the Ride: Here Come the Grannies!

The image gives a taste of what to expect from the attraction, showing Bluey and her younger sister, Bingo riding the coaster dressed as The Grannies, bringing their limitless energy and fun to the ride.

Here Come the Grannies! refers to a fan-favourite episode from the multiple Emmy® Award-winning animated TV show, where Bluey and Bingo play dress-up as the mischievous Grannies Janet and Rita, as they do throughout the series. They're known for their chaotic driving, dance moves - including "flossing" - and causing mischief.

Alongside the new coaster and existing Bluey experiences, including the popular meet-and-greet with Mum (Chilli), Dad (Bandit), Bluey and Bingo and live stage show within Big Fun Showtime, Alton Towers Resort has also announced plans to introduce additional Bluey-themed hotel rooms at the CBeebies Land Hotel.

With these exciting additions, Alton Towers Resort is set to become the ultimate destination for families and Bluey fans alike.

Howard Ebison, Vice President of Alton Towers Resort said:

“We can’t wait to welcome the mischievous and limitless energy of the Grannies to the resort when we open the Bluey the Ride: Here Come the Grannies! this spring.

“Alongside even more bespoke Bluey-themed hotel rooms, we’re excited for the fans to enjoy the new attraction and immerse themselves in the mayhem of the Grannies.”

Natasha Spence, Events Director, Live Entertainment at BBC Studios said,

“We know that whenever the Grannies come out to play, it is a fan-favourite moment for those that love the show.

“We are excited that the energy of these much-loved characters is being brought to life in Bluey’s first-ever coaster at Alton Towers Resort – home to CBeebies Land.”

Track Complete for the Brand New Bluey Rollercoaster at Alton Towers
Sunday 21st December 2025
Alton Towers’ new rollercoaster for 2026, themed around the popular children’s cartoon Bluey, is shaping up to be an exciting addition to the park.

The track is now fully complete and features a striking green finish. The ride layout looks far more thrilling than originally expected, suggesting a fun and energetic experience for guests.

Painting has begun on the station, which is being finished in blue. An elevated exit is also under construction and will pass over part of the ride layout, adding an extra visual element to the attraction.

The building used to access the queue line is looking impressive, with detailed theming now being installed on the roof. A large decorative bone can be seen on top, referencing the family that Bluey is centred around.

Preparations for the queue line appear to be underway, with the old patio area near the Corner Costa Coffee being dug up. Spray-painted markings on the ground indicate where construction will continue.

Although no opening date has been confirmed, anticipation is already building for this brand-new ride.

Alton Towers Bluey Rollercoaster Goes Vertical
Sunday 30th November 2025
Exciting progress is underway at Alton Towers, where the brand-new Bluey-themed rollercoaster has officially begun installation. Over the past few days, the lift hill, station track, and airgates for the ride have all been put into place, marking a major milestone in construction.

The coaster features a bright green colour scheme across both the track and supports, giving it a vibrant and family-friendly look that fits perfectly with the Bluey theme.

Work on the theming has also started. A new house structure is currently being built, which is expected to form part of the guest experience—likely as a walkthrough element or a key visual feature of the ride area.
