Could Drayton Manor’s next big project be reopening a classic Drayton Manor dark ride?
Pirate Adventure closed in 2015 as a believed cost-cutting measure. Signs and props for the old Pirate theme boat ride were sold in an auction back in 2020 when the park was still family-owned.
Since then, the park's new owners the Looping Group took over, and they've invested millions into the park again. Refreshing old park areas, installing new rides and a new iconic rollercoaster and our next guess for investment would be Pirate Adventure.
Look at the entrance for the old pirate dark ride, lots of greenery has grown over the entrance so you would hardly know it's there. But take a closer look through the gaps in the doors and it looks like work might have already begun on renovating this space back to life.
The facade of the building was damaged recently during a storm and was patched up, but inside the entrance and queue line for the ride, work looks to have already begun with fresh wood spotted along with what appears to be old ceiling tiles.
With the park working closely with Intamin this year, could we see Drayton Manor work with them again over the next few years and reopen Pirate Adventure?
It would be amazing to see this attraction reopen!
