Legoland Windsor has announced on their social media channels that Viking River Splash will be closing on Monday 25th September 2023.
This news comes doesn't come as a shock as over the past few years the ride has suffered a lot of downtime due to new health and safety rules being applied to the ride. The amount of staff needed to operate the ride has almost doubled and pretty much all of the water effects have been turned off. Turning once a very wet rapids ride into a lazy river.
With this attraction closing it opens up a huge space for future development! Of course, this does mean we say goodbye to the old Viking theme of the area.

Calling all Vikings! It is time to lay down your oars and say a fond farewell to Viking River Splash at the LEGOLAND Windsor Resort. Since 2007 Vikings big and small have braved the waters and made many memories along the way. We invite you to join the LEGO Viking fleet one last time and make your last voyage before Monday 25th September, after which the ride becomes part of Viking history.
Land of the Vikings will be closed after Monday 25th September ahead of some awesome updates coming soon!
