As LEGOLAND Windsor Resort prepares to celebrate its 30th birthday, the resort has undergone significant improvements during the closed season to ensure the park looks its very best for this major milestone year.
Entrance & Hilltop Area Enhancements
At the top of the hill in the park’s entrance area, noticeable upgrades have already been completed. Part of the flooring has been replaced with a brand-new resin surface, installed near the new LEGO Insiders attraction launching in 2025.
The former water stones and cascading stream feature that flowed down the hill have now been removed. In their place stands a vibrant new LEGO model, accompanied by a colourful redesigned stream. The area has also benefited from a newly laid pathway, refreshed rockwork, new kerbstones, and the addition of a modern concrete bench, creating a cleaner and more contemporary welcome space for guests.
New LEGO Models — and Farewell to Old Favourites
Across the park, numerous new LEGO models have been introduced. However, this refresh has also meant saying goodbye to several long-standing, iconic figures. Removed models include the Rock and Roll Stones, the dragon perched on the rocks outside Knights’ Kingdom Castle, and the horse with two riders positioned near the castle, among others.
For many visitors, these models were a nostalgic part of the LEGOLAND Windsor Resort experience — popular photo spots for children and adults alike over the past three decades.
Pirates Landing Transformation
Pirates Landing is currently undergoing a major refurbishment and remains fully closed while work takes place. All pathways within the area have been removed and are being completely rebuilt. The entrance to the Jolly Rocker is also being reworked; it is expected to be relocated and will likely feature a redesigned queue line along with new themed models.
New fencing is being installed throughout the area as part of the transformation. These upgrades form part of a wider £1 million investment programme across the resort. Improvements include an upgraded security area, freshly repainted spaces throughout the park, new landscaping, enhanced pathways, refreshed attractions, and upgraded dining areas.
Car Park & Sustainability Improvements
Work continues in the car parks, where the installation of solar panels is nearing completion. This project represents a significant step forward in the resort’s sustainability efforts.
With refreshed areas, new models, and substantial infrastructure upgrades, it’s clear that LEGOLAND Windsor Resort is preparing in style for its 30th anniversary celebrations. The park is looking cleaner, brighter, and ready to welcome guests for what promises to be a landmark year.
