FEAR at Avon Valley Scream Park 2025

2025

As the autumn chill settles over the West Country, FEAR at Avon Valley Scream Park once again opens its gates to the brave, the curious, and the downright foolish who dare to enter its world of terror. With a line-up of returning favourites, reimagined attractions, and some new experiences for 2025, this year’s event delivers another thrilling night of horror, laughs, and unforgettable scares.

Tickets and Entry

There are three main ticket options available this year:

FEAR Pass (£26.99 – £42.99) – Includes access to the event arena and all scare attractions.

FEAR Pass + 5 Fast Track (£53.99 – £69.99) – Entry to the event with five fast track passes for those who prefer to skip the queues.

Unlimited FEAR Pass Fast Track (£74.99 – £90.99) – The ultimate ticket for thrill-seekers, providing unlimited fast track access to all attractions.

Prices vary depending on the night, but considering the scale and production quality of the event, they represent good value for money.

Seeds of Evil (New for 2025)

Seeds of Evil brings a delightfully twisted take on the classic harvest festival. Set in the sleepy village of Stidham, what begins as a quaint rural celebration quickly descends into chaos when a new fertiliser, “GRO-GO!”, turns pumpkins into monstrous, carnivorous fiends.

The theming is spectacular – from the rustic festival setting to the grotesque pumpkin creatures lurking within. The costume and set design are among the best at the park, and the enormous tent that houses the maze is impressive. However, while the atmosphere and storytelling are top-notch, the scare factor felt a little underwhelming compared to other mazes. The finale, too, seemed somewhat rushed. Still, this maze is a beautiful homage to Halloween itself and with a few tweaks could become one of FEAR’s standout attractions.

A visually stunning maze that captures Halloween spirit perfectly, but could use a few more jumps.

X4

Returning with some key changes, X4 remains a fan favourite. Gone are the restrictive glow sticks of previous years – meaning visitors can now fully appreciate the intricate set design and unsettling details of this alien research facility.

With an engaging sci-fi narrative, strong scares, and exceptional make-up and costume work, this maze delivers consistently intense moments. The updated lighting and pacing make it feel fresh, and it’s easy to see why X4 continues to be a staple of FEAR’s line-up.

A brilliantly executed, high-energy scare maze with a strong theme and excellent visual design.

Malefica

Once considered one of the weaker mazes at FEAR, Malefica has undergone a significant transformation. Set within the restored Stidham Village Sisters of Mercy Church, this year’s version features far more actors, improved pacing, and some genuinely frightening jump scares.

The oppressive darkness and eerie religious imagery make for a chilling experience that feels both claustrophobic and cinematic. The narrative around Mother Superior Amelia adds a haunting depth that lingers long after leaving the maze.

A huge improvement from last year – atmospheric, sinister, and packed with scares.

Vita Nova

Still reigning supreme as one of the park’s best attractions, Vita Nova continues to impress. The concept – a dystopian regime enforcing a mind-altering treatment – is both clever and immersive. With an expanded facade and added street theatre outside, the experience now begins even before you enter.

Inside, it’s pure brilliance: impeccable theming, unsettling audio design, and deeply committed performances from the actors. The chilling message about compliance and conformity draws clear inspiration from psychological horror, reminiscent of Alton Towers’ Sanctuary.

The undisputed star of FEAR 2025. Terrifying, intelligent, and unforgettable. 10/10.

The Core

The Core continues to deliver something truly unique. Before entering, guests must don waders – a clever touch that immediately adds tension and immersion. The mix of dry and wet environments keeps everyone guessing, while the costumes and prosthetics are some of the best seen at the event.

The story, involving rebels, contamination, and toxic transformation, flows naturally throughout the maze, making it feel more like an interactive horror film than a walkthrough attraction.

Innovative, unpredictable, and brilliantly executed – a must-do experience.

Lock N Load (New for 2025)

This new paid upcharge experience offers a thrilling change of pace. Guests are armed with rifles and thrown into a live-action combat zone to fend off mutated alien experiments. It’s energetic, great fun, and beautifully themed.

The only drawback is the limited ammunition – at £9 per person, it would be nice to have more rounds before needing to buy extras. That said, the experience is slick and adrenaline-fuelled.

Great fun and a clever addition to the line-up, but slightly overpriced for the ammo provided.

Brave It Alone (New for 2025)

FEAR introduces its most extreme experience yet – Brave It Alone. Limited to just ten participants per maze, per night, this solo run promises a far more intense version of the scare mazes. While we didn’t get the chance to try it ourselves, it’s fantastic to see FEAR embracing more daring, immersive horror experiences once again.

Entertainment, Atmosphere, and Overall Experience

FEAR isn’t just about the mazes. The event arena is buzzing with live shows, roaming actors, fire pits, food stalls, and rides – creating a lively festival atmosphere that perfectly balances fun and fright.

The opening show deserves particular praise: a chaotic, high-energy performance filled with pyrotechnics, music, and scare actors running amok. It sets the tone brilliantly and immerses guests from the very start.

Between the scares, it’s easy to grab a drink, warm up by the fire, or enjoy the excellent street entertainment that runs throughout the night.

Final Thoughts

FEAR at Avon Valley Scream Park 2025 proves once again why it’s one of the UK’s leading Halloween events. With world-class theming, exceptional actors, and a diverse mix of attractions, it delivers a perfect balance of storytelling and terror.

While Seeds of Evil could use a few extra scares and Lock N Load feels a touch pricey, the overall quality of the event is outstanding. Vita Nova remains the crown jewel, with The Core and X4 close behind.

A huge thank you to the entire FEAR team for another unforgettable evening of chaos and creativity. We can’t wait to see what horrors await in 2026.

Overall Rating: 9/10 – A masterclass in immersive Halloween entertainment.
