Batwing

Batwing was a Vekoma “Flying Dutchman” coaster that opened in 2001 and gave riders the rare sensation of flight. Once secured in a unique prone position, riders soared face-down beneath the track, swooping through inversions and high-G maneuvers that simulated Batman’s aerial acrobatics. The 115-foot-tall ride reached 50 mph over a 3,340-foot layout, with key moments like a vertical loop and double in-line twist. Despite mechanical complexity and limited capacity, Batwing stood out as one of the park’s most distinctive experiences—a truly immersive superhero flight that left a strong impression on anyone brave enough to ride it.
