Firebird

Firebird was a floorless steel coaster that opened in 2019, transforming the park’s aging stand-up coaster Apocalypse into a smoother, more comfortable experience. Originally built in 1990 as Iron Wolf at Six Flags Great America (and B&M’s very first coaster), it was relocated to Maryland in 2012 and later converted to a floorless design. Riders dangled their legs over two inversions and sweeping turns, diving through fiery orange and blue track that matched its phoenix-like theme. While compact, Firebird was praised for breathing new life into a historic piece of coaster engineering.
