Superman - Ride Of Steel

Debuting in 2000, Superman: Ride of Steel was the park’s tallest and fastest roller coaster—an Intamin-built hypercoaster that towered 208 feet above the park and hit 73 mph. The ride featured massive airtime hills, a 205-foot first drop, and long straightaways that emphasized sheer speed and weightless moments rather than inversions. The Superman theming, red track, and blue supports made it a visual centerpiece. For many thrill-seekers, it was Six Flags America’s ultimate adrenaline rush and a defining ride of the park’s modern era.
