Chessington Minecraft Coaster Goes Vertical as Track and Supports Are Installed

The Minecraft coaster has now gone vertical, and track and supports for the new Minecraft themed roller coaster have now been delivered, with some currently being stored in the grass car park.
Big and exciting times at Chessington World of Adventures. Even more excitingly, supports for the indoor section of the roller coaster have started to be installed. The launch section appears to run beneath the large structure, which would explain why this part of the track has been installed first. There are no visible signs of launch components just yet.
Green supports can be seen stored in the field alongside black supports. It is expected that the green supports will be used for the outdoor section of the coaster, while the black supports and track will form the indoor section.
During a short visit to the park today, three sections of track were spotted already installed. Two smaller sections appear to have a gap left between them, which suggests they could form part of the maintenance bay at the side of the ride. One longer section could form part of the station or possibly a dark ride section. It already looks fantastic, and it is exciting to think about how much more track and support installation we will see over the coming weeks and months.
The structure of supports already in place appears to form a U turn in the layout, possibly wrapping around a central themed feature, which could be part of an indoor dark ride section.
It is always thrilling to see track rising into the sky.
First Supports Delivered for Chessington’s Minecraft Rollercoaster

The first supports for the Minecraft rollercoaster at Chessington have officially been delivered, marking a significant step forward in the project.
The black supports match previous work from Intamin, potentially confirming the manufacturer, and are currently being stored in the field where Go Ape used to be as construction begins to ramp up on site.
With supports now arriving, attention turns to what comes next — how long will it be before track pieces and additional supports begin to appear?

Kobra Craned onto Lorries as Minecraft World Construction Continues

The transformation of Kobra has begun at Chessington, with Kobra Leaves marking the start of an exciting change. The ride is set to return in 2027 alongside the opening of the new Minecraft-themed land, but for now, sections of track and supports are being loaded onto lorries to be repainted and re-themed.
While it may feel a little early to see elements for the new Minecraft coaster and buildings appear, groundwork is well underway, with foundations for the main new rollercoaster continuing to take shape in the area.
Minecraft World Construction Continues with Marketing Added to Site Fencing

With it now officially confirmed that Minecraft World will be coming to Chessington in 2027, banners have been installed on the construction walls surrounding the area. Work on the foundations for the large new rollercoaster is also continuing.
It’s incredible to see just how big this new ride and land is going to be, and we can’t wait to watch it take shape over the coming months. Looking at the foundations currently being poured for the coaster, it also appears that some of the side walls for the station building are beginning to be worked on.
Minecraft Live 2026: Chessington World of Adventures Announces New Minecraft Themed Land

Breaking from Minecraft Live!
Merlin Entertainments and Mojang Studios have officially announced Minecraft World, the first-ever fully immersive Minecraft-themed land at a major theme park. Opening in 2027 at Chessington World of Adventures in Greater London, this £50 million project will bring the best-selling video game of all time into the real world!
What to expect in Minecraft World:
A world-first Minecraft-themed rollercoaster
Interactive adventures and epic blockbuilt playscapes
Themed retail and dining
A host of fan favourites and “ridiculous fun” straight from the Minecraft universe
Concept drawings for the area have also been released, giving fans a first look at the new land. Microsoft and Mojang Studios have worked with gamers and iconic Minecraft creators to build real gameplay-inspired experiences into the area, making it feel like stepping into the Minecraft Overworld.
