Blade Removed from Alton Towers

Alton Towers has officially removed The Blade during the closed season, leaving the pit where the ride once stood completely empty. Longtime fans of the park will recognize this spot in Forbidden Valley as the former home of the swinging ship ride, which had been a staple attraction since 1997.

Now, with the ride gone, all that remains in the pit are subtle reminders of its past. The anchor points from when the site housed a traditional pirate ship ride are still visible in the corners, hinting at the location's layered history. Even a "No Loose Items" sign still stands in the queue line, an eerie relic of the ride's former presence.

With the pit now vacant, speculation is already building over what could replace The Blade.
