Fright Nights Construction Exciting Updates and Speculations

Thorpe Park
Sunday 1st September 2024

As the spooky season approaches, Thorpe Park is abuzz with activity, with several major projects underway in preparation for Fright Nights. Here's the latest on the construction and refurbishment work happening around the park.

The rebuilding of the popular maze "Stitches" is well underway. Recently, all the theming elements that had been temporarily stored outside were reinstalled, bringing the maze closer to its final form. The front entrance now features a fully installed sign and accompanying theming, setting the stage for the eerie experience that awaits inside. In a particularly chilling touch, a creepy doll in a pram has been placed in the front left window, adding to the unsettling atmosphere. Although the maze appears complete from the outside, work continues behind the scenes to reinstall lights and synchronize the attraction, ensuring everything is perfect for opening night.

Work on "Project Sophie" also continues, with new wooden fences now visible on-site. Speculation is rife that these fences could mark the entrance to this mysterious new maze. Rumors suggest that the horror maze might be themed as some sort of night club, which would be a fresh and exciting twist for Fright Nights.

At the "Trailers" attraction, there has been noticeable activity, with workers frequently seen entering and exiting the building. Lights inside the maze were recently turned on, suggesting that internal work is progressing. The posters at the entrance remain unchanged from last year, but there's speculation that if the attraction has new rooms inside, these posters could soon be replaced with "new films for 2024." Over in the shop of Nemesis Inferno, an old sign from the beloved "Asylum" maze was unfortunately damaged and removed. Another fire exit sign, also themed around "Asylum," has been damaged as well. Fans are hopeful that these pieces of park history will be restored soon, as they serve as cool Easter eggs for long-time Fright Nights enthusiasts.

Meanwhile, the Sunset Cinema area is generating some buzz. There is speculation that we might see a Thorpe Park original Fright Nights short film debut in this space, offering an exclusive cinematic experience tailored to the event's horror theme. A poster in the window hints at changes coming to the area, with a sign suggesting that the old "Black Mirror Labyrinth" space is up for sale, adding an extra layer of mystery and excitement to what might be in store.

The stages for Oktoberfest and the potential return of "Lucifer's Lair" have been constructed, with the location being shifted from last year. The relocation could indicate a fresh layout or new elements for these popular events.

At "Hyperia," the stage has been removed, sparking curiosity about what will replace it. There’s speculation that we might see "Hyperia at Night" branding installed in its place, but for now, it remains a mystery.

Despite the ongoing construction and refurbishment efforts, the official lineup for this year’s Fright Nights has yet to be announced. However, with all the visible progress, we’re closer than ever to hearing what Thorpe Park has in store for 2024.

Stay tuned for more updates as Thorpe Park continues to prepare for another terrifyingly thrilling Fright Nights season!
