Nemesis April 2023 Reconstruction Update

Alton Towers
Monday 3rd April 2023

Work on rebuilding the foundations for Nemesis at Alton Towers is well underway. Riding the monorail into the park in the morning yesterday it was a weird sight not seeing the track wrapping around the pit and area. But you get an amazing view of the progress being made in the area.

Construction walls for Nemesis have also been pushed back with more access doors installed in the area meaning we can get a sneak peek at some of the progress being made.

Towards the top of the ride after the list hill, some of the basses of the supports are still visible. You can see where the removal company laser cut the base of the support to get the track out as quickly as they could. From riding air and looking around the area, it looks like these are the last two original support left to be fully removed.

The entrance for the rollercoaster remains for now with a time-lapse camera installed to capture the progress being made for the ride. There is another time-lapse camera installed near the helix section. Every angle of this project is being covered by the camera and it wouldn’t surprise us if there was more than just 2 time-lapse cameras.

At the helix of section of the track, new foundations are being dug. With a huge hole is being dug where a new support will be installed to help relieve some more stress of the ride. It's interesting that only 4 or 5 new supports are needed around the ride.

With the fences pushed back it opens up the park again a little more. The Blade now uses its original entrance again rather than the old Ripsaw entrance which has been used for the past 2 weeks.

We also spotted an old 2022 park map with Nemesis and Duel still on it. We’re sure over the next few days this map will be removed and maybe have some Nemesis is under-protection marketing added to it.

Still, no more signs of Nemesis Sub Terra reopening yet, but the ride has been seen testing the pre-show the past few days. We didn’t see it ourselves but there are videos on social media and YouTube.

Exciting times ahead for Nemesis!
