The Blade Set to Close at Alton Towers?

Alton Towers
Sunday 10th November 2024

Alton Towers' flat ride The Blade, currently the park's oldest attraction may be nearing the end of its journey. Originally introduced as The Pirate Ship in 1980 and located in Fantasy World, it has been a staple for thrill-seekers for over four decades. The ride was moved to Forbidden Valley in 1997, where it has remained a popular attraction.

Rumors about The Blade's closure recently reignited after park managers were seen riding it on the last day of the season. Witnesses reported that the team rode together late in the afternoon, snapping photos—a farewell gesture, perhaps?

Although this isn’t the first time rumors of The Blade’s removal have surfaced, its age and ongoing developments in Forbidden Valley could hint that it may finally "set sail" for good. Fans of the ride await official news but are left wondering if this classic attraction will soon be retired, making way for new experiences at Alton Towers.
