Traumatica 2018

Welcome to a post-Apocalyptic world - this is Horror Nights - Traumatica! For the first time ever the TPG crew adventured over to Germany to check out Europa Parks Halloween event Traumatica. We had visited the park for the first time earlier in the year and were impressed at the level of detail everywhere. It's fair to say, Traumatica didn’t disappoint.

The event consists of 6 scare mazes, 3 scare zones, 1 ice show and a club after park close.

The Pack. The nefarious motorcycle gang The Pack ride with mischief and have seized power. A brutal power struggle has broken out and Mad Dog, the current leader of The Pack is at risk of losing his control to his opponent. Once The Pack start a hunt, they will not leave their victims. A beautifully themed maze full of jump scares and animatronics. The maze takes place in the gang hideout of The Pack and visited the rec room, the garage, and many more rooms. We really like the story presented throughout!

The Fallen. Since the fall of humanity, The Fallen serve evil. Among the few survivors of the apocalypse, however, their minds have suffered. Many of them have already fallen victim to other factions and only the craziest have remained in their resting place. If we can’t escape fast enough, we might end up going mad! An enjoyable maze with some great special effects. Ended a little abruptly however still a great scare maze.

Resistance! Dead and wounded have been sent back into battle as cyborgs in order to help The Resistance. Armed to the teeth with weaponry the reanimated and invigorated creatures hunt every living thing, however, the cyborgs have been infected with a computer virus so only those who are quick can escape. The resistance was an interesting maze. Full of Cyborgs gone mad. Some great scares and theming throughout!

Shadows: Shadowborn Riot. Human tongues cannot pronounce these creatures name and call them Shadows, as they arise from shadows. They were merciless rulers, now they themselves have become hunted and have to defend themselves. Their servants, The Fallen, rise up against them and take terrible revenge. A very pretty maze with lots of clever special effects throughout, we don’t jump or get scared a lot in mazes however this one had us on our toes throughout. Some great acting inside this maze.

Ghouls: The world is under the rule of frightening creatures. The Ghouls have worked their way up from the pitch-black darkness of their caves. Their thirst for human blood is as strong as ever. Now, they are guided by their queen and are set on hunting. Probably the weakest maze at Traumatica with little in the way of scares. The theming is repetitive with the maze predominantly based in tunnels underground. However, the makeup for the creatures is great.

Quarantine Zone, Battle for Traimatica, Hell on Wheels are three scare zones you walk through to get to other sections of the event. All highly themed with loads of actors in them they were very different to other scare zones we’ve done in the past.

Surprise With The Geltic Shadows Ice Show is a special version of the normal ice show that’s put on for Halloween with loader music, bad language, fake blood, and scare actors. This is a show not to miss!

The Vampire Club: The ride station of Poseidon is transformed into a night club. With a club sound system, flashing lights and special effects added you can hardly recognize the place. We’d love to show more of The Vampire club but the show becomes Adult rated further into the evening. Costing just €5 per person, in our opinion it’s well worth the price. We’ve never experienced anything like Vampire Club in the UK or anywhere in the world. We highly recommend attending if you get the chance.

Traumatica at Europa Park is an event not to be missed! We highly recommend planning a visit.
