Flight Of The Pterosaur Behind The Scenes

As part of the Paultons Park Super Fans group, we recently had the incredible opportunity to go behind the scenes of one of the park’s most iconic rides: Flight of the Pterosaur. This unique experience gave us access to the ride area itself — a chance few guests ever get — and it completely changed the way we see this suspended family coaster.

Once you’re walking around underneath the track, you start to appreciate just how massive and intricate the whole structure really is. From a distance, it’s easy to admire the swooping curves and sharp turns, but up close, the scale of the supports and the engineering behind each section of track becomes truly mind-blowing.

Exploring the ride area without the coaster running was surreal. It allowed us to take in every angle of the ride, capturing some awesome photos that you simply can’t get during normal park hours. From standing right beneath the first drop to seeing the maintenance areas tucked just out of view, it was a rare look into what keeps this prehistoric adventure soaring smoothly every day.
