The Curse at Alton Manor: Christmas Edition

During Christmas 2025, the festive transformation of The Curse at Alton Manor extended beyond the ride itself and into the Curse shop, where the gothic retail space received its own carefully styled seasonal makeover.

The shop retained its dark Victorian character, but Christmas details were woven seamlessly into the existing décor. Garlands wrapped around wooden beams and shelving, wreaths were hung against aged brickwork, and subtle fairy lights added a warm glow without overpowering the eerie atmosphere. Rather than feeling bright and commercial, the decorations matched the Manor’s tone — festive, yet slightly mysterious.

Seasonal touches were also integrated among the merchandise displays. Small Christmas trees were positioned thoughtfully around the shop floor, decorated in a style that reflected the attraction’s haunting aesthetic — muted colours, vintage-style baubles, and dim lighting. The result was a space that felt like the Manor itself had reluctantly embraced the holiday season.

It was also fantastic to see The Curse at Alton Manor operating during the Christmas event. With many major attractions traditionally closed over the winter period, having the Manor open added real depth to the lineup and gave guests a chance to experience one of the park’s most immersive dark rides in a completely different seasonal atmosphere. The combination of subtle festive overlays — from the exterior and queue line to the creepy snowman in the garden scene and the decorated shop — made it a standout part of Christmas at Alton Towers 2025.
