Alton Towers Resort opened the new SEA LIFE centre To mark the new season, the Alton Towers Resort opened their new pirate-themed tropical aquarium, Sharkbait Reef by SEA LIFE, and man of the moment and the newly-crowned ‘King of Ice’ was in town to open the attraction.

Alton Towers To Open Sea Life Centre

The Alton Towers Resort is delighted to confirm that they have today been granted permission to build a SEA LIFE aquarium.
Opening in Spring 2009, the attraction will be the 30th SEA LIFE aquarium, and will provide the familiar friendly and authoritative guide to the last great frontier…the seas and oceans of the world, and their myriad of mysterious and amazing inhabitants.
There will be no additional charge for guests visiting the Theme Park to enter the aquarium, which will be located within the pirate-themed Mutiny Bay area of the Park.
Russell Barnes, Divisional Director for the Alton Towers Resort, said:

Mutiny Bay Sea Life Plans

Plans have been submitted to the local council of Alton Towers for the removal of the 3D Cinema dome in Munity Bay and a new attraction to be installed. If approved the attraction could open for the 2009 season! The plans see a new Sea Life Centre installed in its place.
Battle Galleons And Mutiny Bay Opens

Mutiny Bay has officially opened to guests today, the new area has 2 brand new attractions along with the teacups ride rethemed into a Marauders Mayhem. The new rock and tog ride Heave Ho and Battle Galleons has opened to guests with a great reaction.
Although it's not the weather for the new splash battle at the moment this ride is going to be great in the summer. With water cannons on the side of the ride, you don't have to ride it to get wet or soak others!
Mutiny Bay Splash Battle Update

Theming and track for Battle Galleons one of the new rides in Munity Bay continues to be installed on the old lake. The queue line for the ride looks to have been installed along with a large pirate ship in the middle of one of the sections of track.
Theming For New Mutiny Bay Continues

Work on theming Battle Galleons continues with concreate still be poured into the lake for foundations and theming. In a small opening of the station building, we can see the theming for the ride is a castle and will be made fully out of bricks / concrete. From across the lake, we can also see one of the sections is complete and themed to castle turrets.

Mutiny Bay – an exciting new themed land especially for families anchors at the Alton Towers Resort in March 2008. The flagship attraction of the pirate-themed area will be Battle Galleons, a water adventure ride set to challenge all ages. Foundations For New Attraction In Merry England

The Swan boats are no more! Foundations for a new Splash Battle ride are being installed in one of the lakes at Alton Towers. Opening next year we expect the ride will be very wet and cover a lot of the lake.
