Alton Towers’ iconic Corkscrew element, now standing at the front of the park as a nod to its rollercoaster past, is currently undergoing refurbishment and repainting. News of the repaint was revealed a few weeks ago, and the flaking paint has already been jetwashed off.
With the park open for February half-term, the structure will remain in this stripped-back state for a few weeks. Once the park closes again, specialist teams will return to complete the repainting of this historic piece. A temporary sign has been installed to explain the work in progress.
This refresh ensures that the Corkscrew element will continue to serve as a striking reminder of Alton Towers’ rollercoaster legacy.
