There have been several noticeable changes to Blue Barnacle at Chessington. The queue line for the ride has been completely relocated, moving from its previous position opposite the Captain’s Fish and Chips shop to a new area on the other side near Barrel Bail Out, changing how guests approach the attraction and making the entrance feel more open and direct.
The new queue also appears to be around half the size of the original, which arguably makes more sense for the ride. The previous layout wound its way through rockwork and included multiple changes in elevation, creating a more immersive experience but also making the queue longer than it really needed to be. In reality, the queue line was never necessary at that length, so the updated version feels more practical and better suited to the attraction.
The redesigned queue is much simpler, with a flatter and more straightforward path that should improve accessibility and overall flow. From what can be seen, it is nearly ready for use, with most of the pathways and structure in place. However, there is still no confirmed reopening date for the ride, although the new queue line looks almost ready for guests.
