Chessington 2023 Theme Park Season Prep Continues

Chessington World Of Adventures
Tuesday 31st January 2023

The closed season is almost over at Chessington, the 2023 theme park season is just around the corner and lots of work is being done around the park.

One of the biggest jobs looks to have just begun, Dragons Fury is getting repainted! Supports for the ride have been repainted a light grey colour which we expect is an undercoat for more paint. When we took the photos on Saturday only a few supports were painted grey but since then more supports have been repainted, including some lift hill supports! It's unknown if the track will also be repainted.

Located in the drop-off and collect car park is an old part of Sea Storm that we expect will be off to scrap soon. Over in Shipwreck Coast, more of the park has been closed off and Sea Storm has been fully disassembled and ready for more maintenance and checks.

Spotted in the Adventure Point shop is a new soft toy that resembles a Mandrill, is this our look at the new Jumanji merchandise?

In Mexciana the signs for Tortia have been removed and a hose pipe down into Scorpion Express can be seen. It looks like the park has been busy jet-washing the ride ready for it to reopen this year. Tiny Truckers is undergoing its maintenance with the cars removed and parts of the ride removed to be checked and inspected over the next few weeks.

Repainting in the mane stage area continues, with a different path now open we can see more of the new colour scheme. The area looks fresh again! It also looks like some of the LCD panels on the stage signage are being replaced. Over the years this screen has taken a beating! Inside The Rainforest a new building has been built attached to the maintenance building, could we see some new animals in this attraction? River Rafts is still having work done to the drop and lots of the supports for the ride have been repainted.

Tiger Rock continues to have work done to it with the joints previously painted silver for suspected crack testing now repainted an orange colour. New metal work in the final drop area is still sitting there waiting to be installed.

Visbale from the paths open for zoo days, dragons fury is undergoing its winter maintenance checks as well as being repainted. It's going to be weird seeing the ride painted silver! If that's its final colour.

Croc Drop has started its winter maintenance with the grills/flooring for the ride removed and placed in the batching area.

And the saddest update in this post, the crocodile from Bubbleworks looks like it's being thrown out. This bit of theming has been stored in the education centre for the past few years.

It won't be long until the theme park reopens and the World of Jumanji opens to guests.
