Big changes are coming to Dollywood in 2026, as the beloved Wildwood Grove area prepares to unveil its largest expansion yet—a massive new attraction from renowned ride manufacturer Mack Rides.
Construction is well underway on a 43,000-square-foot show building, situated on the plot of land next to Big Bear Mountain. We have spotted Mack Rides ground pins both next to the construction site and inside the building—strong evidence pointing to Mack’s involvement in what could be a groundbreaking new addition.
A steel beam structure has already been erected, and trenches can be seen inside the building, suggesting substantial infrastructure work is taking place. With the scale of the building and these features, many are speculating: Could this be an indoor boat ride, perhaps inspired by Pirates in Batavia at Europa-Park in Germany?
The attraction is said to be themed around “taking flight” through the Smoky Mountains, aiming to deliver a fully immersive experience unlike anything currently at the park. Backed by a $50 million investment, it will be the largest and most ambitious project in Dollywood’s history.
