Europa Park Rebuilds After Fire In Spain Area

Europa Park
Saturday 5th August 2023

Last month Europa Park suffered another fire, destroying a part of the Spain area. Burning down the Dimond Mine and closing Alpine Coaster and Tirol Log Flume.

Since this happened, Europa Park has worked around the clock to retile the roof of the train station and get the train open again. The park has also knocked down the burnt-out building and put up themed tarps around the area to stop views into the area and keeping the Europa Park magic alive.

With the building now cleared, work on foundations and rebuilding the area can begin. New foundations were started and poured at the end of our visit for what we expect will be for a permeant crane base for the area.

We also spotted that the park have removed the ride cars for Alpine Coaster during our trip and that some of the boats for the log flume have been propped up and used to advertise that the ride will be back.

It will be interesting to see what the park does with this space over the next few months. From looking at the past and how the park rebuilt the Scandinavia area, it's going to be even better than it was before!
