Fright Nights 2019 Work Begins

Thorpe Park
Monday 1st July 2019

Work on Fright Nights 2019 has begun around Thorpe Park Resort. Nothing is currently known about this years event, however the logo for Fright Nights has changed compared to previous years. The line up hasn't been confirmed yet officially, but signs have been added at the entrances for two of last years mazes. The only two attractions known to be returning this year is currently Living Nightmare and Containment.

At other Merlin theme parks across the uk work is already underway in creation for Halloween attractions, the containers for Sub Species The End Games have already been installed along with the bridge connecting the towers to the maze.

At Thorpe Park, work on dressing up sections of the Platform 15 maze has started. At the entrance to the maze, the wall segregating it from the Dead Creek Woods has received some new theming warning those brave enough to keep out! Whilst riding Saw The Ride work has also begun on building new structures which appear to be going down the old train route between the rock work.

Loggers Leap is officially gone, however, it seems work is currently being done to the roof of the building. What we think would be really interesting and different is if the queue line for Platform 15 this year entered via the exit of Loggers Leap. Something which has been previously done in the USA for an old rollercoaster.

At the start of the season, objects from Saw Alive have appeared in the Saw The Ride queue line leading us to believe that the maze won’t be coming back this year. Over the past few years, two Billy’s on bikes could be seen in the maze, however, they can now be found in the Saw The Ride building and station. One of the old ferry boat pontoons can currently be seen strapped to the side of the boat.

Blair Witch made a return for 2018, in our opinion, it was a stand out maze! The length of the maze was perfect and the theming throughout was the best we had ever seen. Some people might remember when the Blair Witch maze ran from the old Canada Creek Railway Station all the way down to the current ending. From what we saw this morning, we believe that the old Dead Creek Woods maze won’t be returning this year and that the Blair Witch maze will be being extended. New pathways appear to be being built next to the monks' walk fence and the compound.

Containment has remained the same since it was installed, and in our opinion is ready for a refresh to it to bring it back into the line-up. It seems that Thorpe Park are trying to change a few of the scenes inside to make the attraction flow better. Some objects from the attraction are currently being stored in the pre-show tent.

Fear recommences on 28th September 2019.
