It's been three months and a few days since Thorpe Park's latest rollercoaster, Hyperia, opened on May 24, 2024. Despite some initial teething issues, the park has successfully ironed out the kinks, and the ride is now running smoothly.
Guests can now enjoy several new additions to the area. A new water bottle refill point has been installed on the new toilet block, and the surrounding theming has been enhanced, with golden wings marking the exit and showcasing the initials of those behind "Project Exodus." A metal plaque at the exit also lists the companies involved in this massive undertaking. Additionally, all the temporary fences around the area have now been removed, meaning you can now get great photos of the wings on the floor of the entrance plaza.
Saturday, August 24, marked the first late-night ride event for Hyperia. The ride's lighting looked fantastic, offering a whole new experience after dark. Inside the station, a mysterious new gold butterfly has appeared, adding to the intrigue. In the shop, more themed signs have been added, and the queue line signage is now double-sided, enhancing the immersive experience. Additionally, the landscaping around the ride is looking great, with plants starting to grow again, adding lush greenery to the area. However, it’s a shame to see the splashdown water effect still broken, as it would have added an extra thrill to the experience.
With these updates, we can’t wait to see what the park has in store for Hyperia during Fright Nights!
