The removal of Rumba Rapids at Thorpe Park has now been confirmed, with public access to the attraction fully blocked off. A large blue wall has been installed around the ride, leaving only limited views through a construction gate and from the Nemesis Inferno queue line.
Since our last visit, all ride signage has been removed, and the surrounding fence has been extended completely around the area and painted blue. Metal railings and fences from the ride itself have also been taken away, and the stairs leading to the bridge into the ride queue have been removed.
It’s goodbye to Rumba Rapids—it’s been a fun ride, but this will likely be all we see for a while until new plans for a ride, rollercoaster, or other development are submitted to the council.
The area now feels entirely cleared and ready for whatever comes next in Thorpe Park’s future.
