At the start of 2012 Thorpe Park announced that Saw Alive would only open on selected date during the 2012 season however no one would of guessed that just two months into the main season that they would shut the ride until Fright Nights. The park has said that they have closed the horror maze so that they can upgrade it for the fright nights this year, therefore the ride is just going to be shut up so people cant access it however the pathway which goes along the attraction looks to still be open to the current time but it looks doubtful that the park would close this pathway as it is a shortcut lots of people use to get from the saw island to lost city.
