Slammer At Thorpe Park Taken Over By Nature

Thorpe Park
Sunday 20th October 2024

Since Slammer at Thorpe Park closed in 2017, part of its old queue line has been repurposed for Halloween mazes, offering visitors a unique opportunity to glimpse the decaying ride. With DeadBeat now using part of the former Slammer queue, it's still possible to snap some great photos of what's left.

Slammer has been closed for so long that nature has begun to reclaim it. A tree has started growing through the floor of one of the cars, and weeds and moss have taken hold, creeping over the ride's structure. It’s almost as if the ride is slowly being swallowed by the environment. This might be the last year to see Slammer in this hauntingly beautiful, unmaintained state. Thorpe Park announced last closed season that they plan to remove it during the upcoming off-season, so if you want one final look at this piece of the park overtaken by nature, now’s the time.
