Chessington Howl'o'ween 2024

2024
Chessington World Of Adventures

Halloween has returned to Chessington World of Adventures for 2024, but this year’s Howl’o’ween feels noticeably toned down compared to previous editions. With no new mazes, no fresh merchandise, and the absence of a flagship Halloween show, it’s clear that this year’s event is more reserved. That said, there were still moments of magic and entertainment to enjoy.

Banyan: The Final Flame

Marking the end of an era, Banyan: The Final Flame made its final appearance this year – and what a send-off it was. The performance was packed with dramatic special effects, including fire bursts, smoke, and sparking batons. A notable addition was a male performer who embodied both red and blue elemental characters, bringing new energy to the storyline. It’s bittersweet to see Banyan go, but the show certainly went out with a bang.

The After Party

New for 2024, The After Party energises Adventure Point each day with lively singing and dancing. While it may not be as spooky as other offerings, it’s a vibrant way to launch the day’s festivities and sets the tone for the fun ahead.

Vile Villagers

Vile Villagers returns with a few subtle changes. The storyline has been lightly refreshed, and the finale tunnel has received a noticeable upgrade. As in previous years, the attraction adapts its scare level depending on the time of day – less intense for families during daylight hours, with the fright factor turned up after dark. It remains a solid and engaging part of the Halloween line-up.

Enchanted Hollow

Also returning for its second year, Enchanted Hollow remains largely unchanged. While nothing new has been added, the walkthrough experience continues to charm with its whimsical scenes and story-driven journey. It's a lovely, family-friendly offering that complements the scarier elements of the event.

Pumpkin Patch

The Pumpkin Patch is once again filled with autumnal photo opportunities. However, this year the live actors who added warmth and interactivity in 2023 are sadly missing, resulting in a more static and less immersive experience. Last year’s version had a more personal touch that we greatly miss.

Main Halloween Show

Perhaps the most disappointing omission in 2024 is the lack of a dedicated Halloween stage show. In past years, these productions have been highlights of the season – filled with theatrical flair, impressive costumes, and energetic performances. We sincerely hope this popular tradition returns in 2025.

While we still had a lot of fun at Chessington’s Howl’o’ween 2024, it’s hard to ignore the pared-back nature of the event this year. With the loss of key elements like the Halloween show and live actors in some attractions, it feels less ambitious than in previous years. Here’s hoping 2025 brings a bold revamp – with new experiences, refreshed creativity, and the return of beloved features.
