Gold Rush is the headline attraction of Drayton Manor’s western-themed Frontier Falls, offering a family-thrill experience that blends immersive storytelling with clever coaster engineering. Built by Intamin, the ride uses a unique lift-and-launch system that creates two possible ride sequences, so guests may experience either a dramatic rollback into the launch barn or a backwards surge up the lift before racing forward through the course.
The train accelerates along low-to-the-ground twists, turns, and airtime bumps while the theming around the track—rusted mining equipment, dynamite crates, and a smoky, boisterous launch shack—helps build the feeling of escaping a chaotic gold mine. Smooth, fast, and accessible to younger riders thanks to its modest height restriction, Gold Rush delivers a surprising amount of excitement without being overwhelming. It has quickly become one of Drayton Manor’s standout attractions, striking a perfect balance between family fun, frontier charm, and modern coaster design.
