Jack Osbourne hired as director of fear
Thursday 3rd November 2011
Jack Osbourne has been spotted around the Alton Towers Resort and now we all know why, Alton Towers has now confirmed that Jack Osbourne has been hired as Alton Towers new director of fear. He has been hired to help out with the new nemesis ride which is due to open on march 24th 2012 the most terrifying ride at Alton Towers to date. Over the past week he has been settling into his new role as "Director of Dear" by working alongside the Alton Towers Resort fear experts to develop the concept for the attraction and Alton Towers have said, "He is already talking about putting a heart rate monitor at the attraction's exit to record just how scary it is." Now to us it really does seem like Alton Towers are pulling out all of the stops with this new ride. There has also been a video made to make this first important stage of designing the ride and promoting the new ride for the new season which can be found below:

Alton Towers new attraction for 2012 Nemesis What Lies Beneath theming around the location this week has really started to step up a gear as we now have danger signs on the site access doors and we have red flashing lights around the doors. Over the past few days nothing much has been happening around the site but work on clearing the site is now almost done so it should be to long until we start to see major work being done to the site. However with the park shutting in the next few weeks it looks like all the major work is going to be done when the park is closed to the public probably due to the deep excavations alton towers have got to do to build the ride. There are also actors roaming the area trying to scan people for radiation with giga counters a object that scans for radiation and beeps if it finds some. Also a big cheers to Zach Lowe for the photo's.

It’s been well over a month since our last update on the new ride coming to the old Lava Lamp site for the 2012 season, so it’s definitely time for some news!
Since then, quite a few developments have taken place. A teaser site has launched, which you can check out at www.altontowers.com/2012, and the entire area appears to be sealed off with MDF panels. The photos we’ve received show banners now covering the woodwork, along with what looks like the entrance that construction teams will be using for the build.
The mini-site also features a teaser video suggesting that the ride will continue the Nemesis storyline. Here’s hoping it lives up to the legacy and doesn’t tarnish the Nemesis name! We’ll share more updates as soon as we get them.

Over the last couple of days Alton Towers have been uploading more and more information about there brand new 2012 ride onto their local council website to be put though the system and we have been waiting for the plans to be put online so we could give you a detailed update! Now this new 2012 ride is going to be located in the forbidden valley area right where the Lava Lump and body zorbing attraction are located currently. Also this area used to house the Dynamo ride which also got removed many years ago. The plan's that we can currently see show us that a new building is going to housed on the land behind the current Body Zorbing attractions. The contents of the building is currently unknown but there appear to be pre-show areas for the ride which could mean a new type of ride! This attraction will follow the same theme of the rest of the forbidden valley land / military / industrial theme. Now on the plan's we can see this ride is going to have a shop just like the thirteen one eg housed in a storage container.
