Hyperia Valleys For The Second Time

Thorpe Park
Wednesday 2nd October 2024

Recently at Thorpe Park, the new roller coaster Hyperia experienced an unexpected technical issue known as "valleying," where the train failed to complete its circuit and got stuck in a low section of the track. This typically occurs when the ride loses momentum, often due to factors like weather.

The park’s maintenance team acted swiftly, working behind the scenes to safely remove the stranded train and transport it to a storage area near the park’s trailers. Valleying incidents like this are rare but not unheard of, and the quick response shows Thorpe Park's commitment to guest safety and operational efficiency. While the ride was briefly out of action, the park’s efforts to resolve the issue demonstrate their determination to get Hyperia back on track as soon as possible, minimizing downtime and ensuring everything runs smoothly.

In an impressive feat, the park managed to get Hyperia operational again in less than 24 hours, running on a single train just in time for the Fright Nights press night. Their quick work behind the scenes ensured that the flagship attraction was ready for the event, proving once again that Thorpe Park excels at delivering seamless experiences, even when facing challenges.
