Gangsta Granny The Ride To Open Spring 2021
Friday 26th February 2021
It is also anticipated the Alton Towers's much anticipated latest attraction, Gangsta Granny: The Ride will open in the Spring after the re-opening. The ground-breaking, brand-new family attraction brings to life David Walliams’ most popular children’s novel.  Published by HarperCollins Children’s Books, Gangsta Granny tells the story of Ben who discovers that his Granny is secretly an international jewel thief. The thrilling new experience will see guests join the main characters as they attempt the greatest heist in the history of the world: to steal the Crown Jewels! On-board a Royal Carriage, the ride will whizz, twist and spin passengers 360° through a series of scenes where they will see, feel, hear and even smell an electrifying and unique re-telling of the Gangsta Granny story.

A Glimpse Into The World Of David Walliams New For 2021
Sunday 5th July 2020
With The World of David Walliams delayed until Spring 2021 due to Coranavrius and theme parks only just opening up we took a quick glimpse into the new area.

The area looks fantastic and we can hardly recognise it as Cloud Cuckoo Land. As we predicted some of the rides in the area have moved places with the frog hopper moving back to its original location and the carousel moving to the spot that the twirling toadstool ride once stood. The entrance to Gangsta Granny: The Ride also looks amazing with some of the queue line flowing out in the area, purple ropes of course!

With construction fences still up around the newly rethemed area all photos were taken from public areas.

We look forward to seeing the new area in 2021!

World of David Walliams Delayed Until 2021
Friday 29th May 2020
Alton Towers has announced via Social Media that The World of David Walliams has been postponed until 2021.

Posted in an update the park has said:

"We are sorry to say that we've taken the very difficult decision to postpone the opening of Gangsta Granny: The Ride until Spring 2021.

We hugely disappointed, as we know many of you will be. So much hard work has gone into the design and build of what promises to be a brilliant, unique ride experience.

We look forward to launching Gangsta Granny: The Ride, and the other attractions in the brand-new area inspired by The World of David Walliams next year with all the fanfare they deserve.

Thank you for your understanding."

Promotion Material Updated Around The Park For 2020 Attraction
Tuesday 19th November 2019
Work on removing House of Monsters from the old Wobbleworld building appears to be complete. From the small gap in the construction fences, we can see the building is completely gutted and ready for something new to be installed.  We now know that Cloud Cuckoo Land will receive a makeover throughout the closed season.

We expect something else to replace the old Twirling Toadstool ride or if not, some of the attractions will be moved to make the area more greeting to new guests.

No extra details about the new area have been given yet, however advertising across all of the park has been updated to advertise the new area as opening in 2020!
