In 2021, Alton Towers will see a new event come to the resort, Mardi Gras. A carnival-inspired takeover of the resort that runs from 22nd May to 20th June that we are sure will be a whole load of fun. Not much has been known about the event, until now.
Entertainment
As part of the event, a whole load of exciting entertainment will be on display, with the resort turning into one big party, featuring street performers and in each themed area of the park, a static float surrounded by its own flamboyantly dressed 'Krewe' will be there to represent.
Throughout the day, each Krewe will be taking it to the streets’ for some high-energy live entertainment filling the streets with all the colours and energy that Mardi Gras has to offer!
What's even better, this event is included as part of your admission into the resort!
Flavours From Around The World
One of the best parts of Mardi Gras events around the world is the food and the offering at Alton Towers is no exception! Offering a variety of flavours from around the world.
Prepare to choose from delicious Greek or Chinese street food, mouth-watering stone-baked pizzas or what about a classic like Yorkshire pudding but in a wrap! And for those with a sweet tooth don’t miss out the resorts our very own take on a Mardi Gras classic like the King Cake.
King And Queen
Another staple of Mardi Gras is the Mardi Gras King and Queen, and all guests have the opportunity to become it via a competition prior to the event taking place.
If you know someone who truly deserves to be crowned King or Queen of Alton Towers Mardi Gras, they want to hear from you through TikTok! Tag them in your video @officialaltontowers and use #MardiGrasKingandQueen telling them your nomination and why.
