Sad news is coming in today, announced on the parks social media channels Ashok the parks Asiatic Lion has passed away at the age of 18. Due to ongoing health difficulties relating to his age the difficult decision was taken to humanely euthanize him. Chessington have said “He was a true character here at the Resort, and will be very missed by all staff, especially our dedicated Zoo team. Our Lioness, Rani, will of course initially find it strange without her companion but the Zoo team will be providing her with extra enrichment to keep her occupied during this transition.”
