Chessington Park Refurbishments and Ride Updates February 2026

Friday 27th February 2026

Chessington World of Adventures has had an incredibly busy closed season, with refurbishment and maintenance work taking place across the resort — much of it behind the scenes, and some areas still not visible to guests.

A few weeks ago, as part of a special VIP closed season tour, we were able to see the progress being made in Land of the Tigers. The area is currently undergoing a significant makeover, and even from what we saw during the tour, it’s clear that the refresh will make a noticeable difference when it reopens.

During our visit to the park on Sunday, we saw plenty more improvements across the resort. Adventure Point has had a major repaint, with buildings throughout the area treated to a fresh coat of paint that really brightens the space. The shop layout has also been reorganised, creating a much better flow than before. The repainting has now been completed, the waterwheel has been fully reinstated, and the Chessington Armada has never looked better.

Elsewhere, maintenance work continues on several attractions. A train for Vampire can currently be seen stored near Tomb Blaster. Vampire has also been spotted testing and looks better than ever — it appears to have been jet washed again. On the second lift hill, new cable ties have been installed between the supports, suggesting further upkeep has taken place.

Near the hotel entrance, the main portal has been repainted and brand-new security scanners have been installed, giving the arrival area a fresh and more modern appearance.

Elmer's Flying Jumbos has been dismantled and is currently undergoing winter maintenance. The ride has been closed for some time, but we expect it to reopen in time for the summer season.

In the centre of the park, the Wishing Chair has received a major jet wash and is looking better than ever. Over in the World of Jumanji, the Ostrich Stampede sign is currently being repainted, although it remains temporarily missing for now.

Overall, it’s clear that a huge amount of work has taken place ahead of the new season, with noticeable improvements throughout the park.
