Fright Nights 2020 Final Preparations

Thorpe Park
Tuesday 6th October 2020

Fright Nights is set to begin in less than 70 hours and last-minute preparations around Thorpe Park are taking place; from the simple sign being changed compared to larger changes such as the FEARSTIVAL arena stage being completely reimagined. With a facade going up and fire effects being added.

Starting in the dome, the old Octokberfest bunting/flags have been removed and replaced with Fright Nights colours and signs saying "Scream Louder" and "Face Fears"

In the Scarezone, The Howling of LycanThorpe High; the dancing area/stage has been fenced off and a temporary floor has been installed, along with a new sound and lights rig. It would appear our early thoughts about this area were correct, this is just going to become another version of amity high with a DJ. Complete with 2 large speakers lots of lights and a smoke machine, we cannot wait to check out this Scarezone!

Old Town is currently only operating between the hours 10am and 2pm with the area then closed to the public so Fright Nights work can take place. Loads of theming has been installed with new posters, rocking chairs and bunting installed everywhere. It appears the park has made this area into a one-way system. It's currently unclear where the platform 15 exit will be, or if it will take you into the centre of a busy scare zone.

One of the major changes for Platform 15 this year is the fact that the maze is now reversed and the entrance is now located to the right of the Samauri exit. With you now entering via the long black tunnel, the entrance / old exit has received a brand new tunnel facade and with it a new sign! We cant wait to see what the reimagined maze is like.

Around the park new theming is currently being installed, large crosses have been placed at the entrance bridge, by The Swarm island entrance and Storm Surge. Extra signage has also been installed advertising what Halloween extras are available and how far away they are.

The Fearstival Arena is by far the biggest change since Octokberfest ended on Sunday! The stage is almost unrecognizable, with more lights added, a projection screen added to the back and theming going up around the stage and area. All old signs have been updated and new pop up areas for actors can be seen throughout the arena. We're really excited to see how this scare zone turns out when it's finished. Especially since it has fire effects!

The Swarm Invasion is another scarezone we cant wait to see come together during Fright Nights. It seems like we're not going to be getting much theming or work done to the island. At the moment only two small stages can be seen with signs saying "Look to the sky" and "We told you"

Over at Stealth the last scarezone, Terror at Amity High, the bus has been installed, the lighting rigs and speakers and stage is ready! Everything here appears to be the same as last year, however, we expect that before the event starts on Friday, we will see some barriers to keep the public away from the actors.

Signs for Jungle Escape are gone and have been replaced with Roots of Evil maze entry rules. Only time slot tickets will be allowed to enter the queue line. Tickets into the two mazes, Roots of Evil and Platform 15 cost £10 and can be booked online.

On-ride photos have also had a Fright Nights makeover. New overlays have been added to Stealth and a few other rollercoasters.
