Fright Nights 2021 Construction Progressing Fast

Thorpe Park
Sunday 19th September 2021

Fright Nights 20 Years of Fear is just around the corner and work on constructing all of the scare zones and mazes is progressing well! Since our last visit to the park, more work has been done on the new scare zone (located outside the old Saw Alive location) The Crows of Mawkin Meadow. New fences have been installed near the lake and hay bales now line the route of the scare zone. Unfortunately, it looks like the old Saw Alive queue line will not be removed for this new scare zone, however, some plants and foliage have been added to the fences to make the scare zone blend in with its soundings.

Down at Platform 15, it's the mazes last year and to match this, the Platform 15 sign has had the new title End of the Line added. At the end of the maze, some cargo netting has been added to make the attraction even darker. During the evening, we also spotted the attraction testing with staff going in and out of it and lights and smoke machines turned on.

Creek Freak Massacre looks ready for guests with the attraction testing during the evening. Work on building the scare zone Creek Freaks: Unchained is also progressing nicely with most of the scare zones theming installed, a few banners could be seen on the side ready to be installed. Some netting has also been added to the old Mexican Cantina building in Old Town, which we believe will be used as a dressing room for the actors.

Both schools Amity and Lycan have moved into the Stealth plaza, with both busses now installed. The location of the Lycan bus does seem a bit strange and hopefully, this isn't the final resting place! It would be good if both busses were in a triangle format, so the two scare zones/ schools can go head to head. But the bus that was at Lycan last year is now at Stealths drop before the bunny hop. All of the lights and the DJ booth is still installed but we suspect this will all change a lot over the next few weeks. Banners and flags could also be spotted on the seats of the Amity bus.

One maze we're all really excited for this year is Trailers! Work on the outside of the maze seems to be progressing fast, with a new facade spotted down the end where you used to enter the Blair Witch maze. It's currently unclear if this will be a photo point or if this is the start of the entrance feature to get into the maze. Our previous thoughts of the exit of the attraction using the previous The Asylum exit doors seem to be true with new tarmac installed outside.

No work appears to have started on Birthday Bash or Legacy yet.

Fright Nights 2021 is gearing up to be the best year yet! With a mixture of paid scare mazes and free scare zones - there's something for everyone this year!
