Last week we reported that Thorpe Park had begun work on the old site of Miss Hippo’s Fungle Safari ride with trees being marked up to be cut down and this week we have a small update on the site status. The track is being removed with the concrete base it used to sit on being removed. More trees appear to have been cut down during the past week and it looks like the park have got a plan for the space.
The track at the front of the site has currently been removed with the back of the site fenced off to secure the work area. we believe that the park will add a flat ride into this space or plan to put a roller coaster on the site possibly travelling down towards the Canada Creek Railway station?
Over the last few years the “miss hippos fungle safari” ride has been standing but not operating. After years of the site being used for only the asylum queue line the ride location has finally started to be worked on. A huge fence has gone up around the site creating a gap between the public and the ride site. Its currently unknown what is going to have to the ride location is could be just left there for many more years to come or its just going to be taken out and a new ride added there in the next few years.
