Soon To Be Showing At Fright Nights 2021

Thorpe Park
Saturday 25th September 2021

We are back with another Fright Nights update.  As the event nears, so much has changed on the island and we are very excited.

As soon as you enter the island, it’s hard to miss the home of Legacy!  The structure has quickly been erected with so many exciting elements showing us how good this show is going to be.  9 flame thrower boxes, huge speakers, Co2 cannons and lights are visible on the structure. We are sure there’s more to come and we’re looking forward to seeing how they incorporate music and light into this show, a first for Fright Nights.

Recently added to the Swarm Island - new set pieces for Swarm Invasion.  Entering onto the island, your eyes are drawn to a large tent, with signs telling you to “look to the sky” and “the end is here”. Inside the tent is a camping bed, a table, chair, camping bed and radio equipment. We imagine that this will be open up when the scarezone is ready, filled with the activists researching and inviting people to look to the sky to learn all about the invasion. Another stage has been added with the signage of District 199 and creepy graffiti all around. After last year, we are excited to see this area being utilised to its full potential.

Where the Crows go - we know!  This year, located at Mawken Meadow, the Crows have their own permanent scarezone. The area has continued to have extra elements added, with extra foliage now on the other side of the pathway and new lighting throughout the area.  We also have noticed a scarecrow pumpkin appear with more pumpkins around, possibly to create more. The new zone and permanent location makes the crowd favourite easier to find this year and we can’t wait to see them hiding in the bushes very soon.

Time to oil up the chainsaws, the Buckwheat family are back and better than ever.  The whole Old Town area has been transformed into the terrifying Creek Freaks Unchained scarezone. New theming has arrived for this year, including the “UberWheats” delivery truck and multiple photo and meat and greet points! A lot of extra theming has been added this year, with new scenery and points to get the interactions (we hope Grandpa Joe is back). There’s a special area for honorary Buckwheats, where we don’t think we want to end up! We can’t wait for the whole area to come alive with the scent of chainsaws and the brilliant soundtrack.

Not many things have obviously changed at Platform 15 from our last visit. From inside the maze we can see that the sign has moved to make passengers believe they are going onto the platform. The finale of the maze looks darker, with netting being added to the roof and a possible re-route from last years ending.

Exciting things are happening to the facade of Trailers! The temporary fencing has been removed and new fencing and entrance has been placed. Adverts outside of the maze are informing guests of the “Electrifying” thing coming to Fright Nights. At the entrance/ photo spot that we noticed in the queue line in our last update, posters have been installed showing the movies that are coming soon. Fright Nights fans will be familiar with the two posters from their preview trailers and the SuperSpark cinema shop. Vulcan Voodoo and SHIP happens are the two posters at the moment, but these may change throughout the season. We are sure that a lot of exciting work is still going on inside of the maze and are so excited to experience this!

Amity and Lycan have joined forces to howl and scream the house down together. Although not much has changed in this scare zone, the Lycan bus has been moved next to the Amity one, allowing for a better interaction and back drop for the two schools. Permanent lighting has been installed in the area in front of the bus, ready for the schools to dance!

Not much has changed in the Birthday Bash area, but we assume this will all happen after Oktoberfest has finished.

We are so excited to experience 20 Years of Fear very soon. Stay tuned for more updates and a live blog from the very first night!
