On Friday 24th May 2019, Thorpe Park Resort celebrated its 40th Anniversary. Founded in 1979 the park has grown from being a small park with no rides and attractions to being home to the UK’s tallest and fastest rollercoaster. To celebrate such a big year the park is playing host to multiple events throughout the year, this weekend is your chance to visit a majority of the events!
Bouncing into action from 12 pm on 25th May, BounceZilla is a large bouncy castle assault course. Located infant of the crust and near the entrance of Rush. This weekend is also your last chance to experience GameFX a gaming event located in the Events Marquee.
To celebrate and mark the event special 40th Anniversary merchandise can be found on sale in the Thorpe Park Mega Store. All items are strictly limited edition and stock is flying off the shelves. Items available range from, a mug, T-Shirt, Hoodie and a pin badge.
It isn’t just the park celebrating an event this year, Saw The Ride is turning 10 years old. And to mark the occasion the park has reintroduced actors roaming around the Saw Plaza and inside the ride building. Warning guests about Jigsaw and his games! Will you be brave enough to master his games and make it out alive? A limited edition pop badge has also been released to mark the event. If you ask the roaming actors for “Evidence for Dylan” they will give you a pop badge. True enthusiasts will understand where the name Dylan comes from.
To mark the event, the park is also selling a limited edition annual pass. Called Thorpe Park Anniversary Edition. The card has a retro foil logo on it, along with the exclusive pass design you also get a limited edition pop badge with the old Thorpe Park Logo on it and a classic attraction lanyard. Priced at £99 for the pass or £14 for the souvenir kit which comes with everything above but a blank card.
Those old enough to remember the old Thorpe Park Logo will see a familiar logo around the park with the old Thorpe Park Rangers popping up on queue time boards and the mega screen in the dome and outside the park. Defiantly a throwback! Maybe when the park hits 50 years old we could see a return of the Thorpe Park Rangers in costume?
