Chessington Wilderfest 2022

2022
Chessington World Of Adventures

Wilderfest is back at Chessington World of Adventures for the summer 2022 season and it's bigger than ever! Welcoming guests into the park for the first hour of the day, why not stop for a selfie with some of the Groupie Troupie. Located at the Explorer Gate car park some of the characters your meet throughout the day are out possing for photos and welcoming you to a festival like no other!

Back to thrill the mane stage Mr Fox has returned with 2021's winner DJ Sharky who is back to warm up the crowd and prepare everyone for the time of their lives! Who wins you decide is back for another year and this year's contestants bring fresh new talent. Introducing, Lioness Richie, Skunk182 and Snoop Frogg!

Just like last year the 3 singers battled it out and sing and dance for their lives and futures. These three new acts also bring with them beautiful costumes, sets and a whole bundle of energy, we of course can't pick favourites.... but we love Skunk182!

We absolutely loved this year's performance of who wins you decide, it felt like you were in a festival with lots of members of the "crowd" singing along. There was something for everyone! This year's performance felt more like a concert than a show in our opinion. One difference we did notice was that this year the stage was completely blacked out with curtains which isn't a huge change but really makes a difference, rather than the stage just having another show on it, the park has tried to change the stage appearance.

Dotted around the park are mini-stages, where Lioness Richie, Skunk182 and Snoop Frogg perform a warm-up gig before performing on the mane stage. Singing one song and then telling guests that they will be performing at the mane stage it's a nice preview of what you could see. Located at Festival Field and in Adventure Point you can catch a glimpse of these bands performing, show times can be found on signs around the stage and in the Chessington app.

The Festival Field is back again for 2022, after being relocated due to a new rollercoaster being built you can now find lots of food, music and a big grass bank for your picnics and to relax on. Located outside Room on the Broom the festival field has a huge away of food from a pizza truck, posh dogs, ice cream and French crepes. Extra entertainment can also be found on Festival Field such s a juggler who performs twice a day! you might even catch a meet and greet with some of the performances as they travel through.

The Groupie Troupe are back for 2022 and has recruited new members! Last year the group consisted of 4 or 5 people. However this year the park has doubled that number to have a huge gang of supporters of Wilderfest. You can catch them roaming around the park during the day until they all meet in Adventure Point where they then do a flash mob and dance to their heart's content! It's great to see the park expanding on what they did in 2021.

Wilderfest 2022 is a great event, we loved all of the live music being performed around the park. And as with all good theme park events, new music can be heard playing around the park! It's nice to hear something fresh when walking around the park.

This year the event feels a lot more put together and it feels like the park has really listened to people's feedback from last year and taken it on. Something we said last year was that it would have been nice to hear more live music around the park. Although it's just 3 stages it feels like there's something always going on. Year years merchandise wasn't fully available on the first day but a new pin badge for the event has been released and since writing this review new T-Shirts have been released. With the words, my first festival written on them these new shirts are aimed at children.

Wilderfest is a fantastic event and perfect for the summer! It's like going to a festival but at half the price, and nice toilets!
