Back With A Vengeance… Has The Nemesis Creature Awakened?
Thursday 2nd November 2023
Fans of the iconic Nemesis rollercoaster have been given a heart-stopping hint of what’s in store for them in the new year - with the release of an action-packed new video.

The clip stokes fears that the Nemesis creature has escaped from its secure containment at Alton Towers Resort.

Footage that has appeared online appears to show a secret experiment on the beast spiral wildly out of control.

It is believed that the shadowy Phalanx organisation were continuing their attempts to manipulate the creature’s DNA at the time.

In the process it appears to have inadvertently woken the creature which has lain dormant since The Phalanx first began their investigations a year ago.

In the footage members of The Phalanx are seen wearing protective clothing in what seems to be preparations for some kind of surgical procedure.

However the calm is soon shattered as panic grips. The scene then descends into complete chaos as Phalanx members attempt to flee the area with the group’s spokesperson appearing to meet a grizzly end.

The footage concludes in dramatic fashion with a close-up on an unidentified creature’s blazing, red eye slowly opening.

It comes as visitors to the park are reporting that the perimeter fence around the Nemesis attraction appears to have been breached with a large hole visible.

An Alton Towers spokesperson said: “We will not be offering any comment on recent alleged events other than to assure visitors Nemesis will be back with a vengeance in 2024.”

The legendary attraction - which takes riders on a heart-pounding journey with a g-force of 3.5 and top speed of 50mph - welcomed fans on a final ride round its exhilarating twists and turns last November before temporarily ceasing operations to undergo an exciting revamp.

Part of the transformation will see the entire 250-tonne, 716-metre-long track replaced ahead of thrillseekers being welcomed back in 2024.

Nemesis Reconstruction Continues With New Breaks
Saturday 7th October 2023
Work around the Nemesis site continues, with the track yet to be completed work on repainting the entrance for the ride has begun. The entrance has been repainted jet black to match the new track colour scheme. We wonder if we might see some veins added to the entrance tower over the next few weeks.

With the lift hill now fully repainted, work on adding the new vein details on the lift hill has begun. Starting at the top of the lift and making their way down, the park has started to stencil out the design for the veins and at the top of the lift have already painted on the new details.

A large section of theming at the front of the station has been removed exposing the roof of the station and how the creature was built back in the day. We wonder if the front of the station is going to be enclosed to create a tunnel and to keep the station dark?

With the trains back on the track, ride hardware has started to be reinstalled after being upgraded. New breaks have been fitted to the break run, replacing the old friction breaks with magnets. New kicker wheels can also be seen on the break run and at the base of the lift hill.

Nemesis Trains Refurbished And Delivered Back To Alton Towers
Wednesday 27th September 2023
Special delivery! Trains for Nemesis at Alton Towers have been delivered. Although these don’t look like new trains we expect they’ve been filled refurbished by B&M.

Different to the old trains, the seats and metalwork have been repainted jet black and the restraints have been painted a bright red colour. Very different to what the original trains looked like but we love it! It's worth noting that the wheel covers for the ride have remained out of shot, so we wonder what other details have been painted on these.

Photos posted on stokesentinel have given enthusiasts a glimpse of the recently refurbished trains.

Bianca Sammut, divisional director at Alton Towers Resort, said:

“Nemesis has achieved iconic status among thrillseekers worldwide, for its sheer power and heart-stopping twists and turns.

“The arrival of the new ride trains on site marks the latest milestone in its transformation. At Alton Towers Resort, providing our visitors with the ultimate attractions is our defining priority.

Nemesis 95% Of Track Installed And Station Painting Continues
Wednesday 13th September 2023
Work on Nemesis at Alton Towers has reached a new milestone, The iconic Corkscrew has been installed and only 4/5 sections of track are left to be installed. However, with the track holding compounds now empty and dismantled there’s no sign of the extra bits of track. Supports for the turn-around section after the lift hill have already been installed ready for the track when it's delivered. Looking into the site from the gate near the car park you can see the track for the turn-around section installed and floating in mid-air. Just waiting to be connected again to the lift hill.

Refurbishment work on the station continues with the wooden structure previously seen in the corner where the old Nemesis eye was now removed. We wonder if this was placed here to build hype or if it was put there to mark out where some new theming element will be installed over the closed season. The repainting of the station continues with the grey paint on the top of the station now darkened to make the station look more sinister again.

It looks like there might be a new exit out of the Nemesis ride building, The cutout in the side of the station where the single rider queue line used to enter has been made bigger and looks to be being themed.

Work on repainting the bus installed on the side of the bank has also begun. Scaffolding can be seen around the bus for what we expect will be a repaint and retheme of the element. The lift hill and break run have also finally been repainted yet black with the rails still yet to receive a repaint. We wonder if these sections will receive the veins artwork like the new sections of the track have received?
