Mia's Riding Adventure at has opened today at Legoland Windsor along with the rest of the Lego Friends Area, although the first half of the ride is very slow the rest of the ride picks up and actually has a decent ride cycle.
Mia's Riding Adventure Starts Testing
Saturday 16th May 2015
Previously we had reported that Legoland Windsor where building a brand new ride for this year and today the ride was testing. Mia's Riding Adventure is a small Disco ride similar to the Kobra at Chessington but without the bump in the middle of the ride. Guests sit on multi coloured pony's with a back bar holding you in, the ride is set to have a minimum height restriction of 1.2m. During the ride testing today it was just going back and forth on the track and not spinning, we believe this will all change over the next few days when the ride is signed off and staff are trained.
Around the area work is well underway to prepare the area for opening day next Saturday 23rd May 2015. Metal girders have been put into the entrances to the area, we believe these will be themed entrances into heartlake city. The entrance to Mia's Riding Adventure also appears to have been started with the top visible from over the construction fence. The train station has been repainted a bright pink colour to reflect the rest of the area, the train looks to have remained untouched! The space previously occupied by the gaming zone has been stripped and looks to be called Olivia's House. "Where you'll find interactive LEGO builds and delights in every room!"
Heartlake City Opening Date Confirmed
Thursday 7th May 2015
Heartlake City at Legoland Windsor Resort is set to open Saturday 23rd May 2015 as confirmed via an email today. Family’s are invited to explore the new area with a brand new show “Lego Friends to the Rescue” at the Heartlake Harbour Arena along with the Heartlake City Express a gentle train journey through the LEGO countryside.
To celebrate the opening of Heartlake City there will be a big build event at the event. Where guests can help create a gigantic 8ft4in x 12ft7in LEGO mosaic of singing superstar Taylor Swift. Guests will build the enormous structure in 600 separate sections using 38,400 individual bricks. The mosaic will be revealed in all its LEGO glory on Bank Holiday Monday 25 May and will remain in the Resort until Sunday May 31.
Wild Ride Emerges From Woods Of Windsor
Saturday 25th April 2015
Lego Friends Heartlake City is due to open in a few weeks time with the area bringing a new lease of life in to the centre of the park. The train and Heartlake City Mall are due to open when the area is officially opened however one attraction, Digger Challenge has been dropped from the area line up. The attraction has been removed and looks to have been replaced with a ride similar to the Kobra at Chessington World Of Adventures. It looks like the ride will be very basic just like the ride Avatar Airbender at Blackpool Pleasure Beach and wont feature a bunny hop like the Chessington attraction. The ride is located towards the back of the Digger Challenge site going sideways so the two peaks of the ride are going left to right looking towards the area from the old entrance of Digger Challenge. We expect the rest of the unused area will be used for the queue line, entrance and theming.
If the park follows suit with other Legoland Parks getting the Heartlake City areas, we could also see a new show added! Legoland Florida is getting a new Friends themed show called ‘Friends to the Rescue’ and there “Horse themed disc coaster” is called “Mia’s Riding Adventure.” Promo photo from Legoland Florida website.
Work on the rest of the area appears to be coming along nicely with a banner in the shop saying “The Lego Friends are still hiding some secrets… all will be revealed soon!” The wall the banner is put on appears to be temporary, could the building that used to contain the gaming zone be in the process of being converted into a bigger shop for the area? The Orient Expedition station has been given a makeover with the railings being painted bright pink.
Nothing has been confirmed by the resort however once more information is published we shall update this article.
Saturday 13th December 2014
During a visit to the park today we noticed that Digger Challenge has started to be removed from the park. Rumours are currently going around that the ride could be being replaced with a new Disko ride from Zamperla for the new Lego Friends Area. However with no planning permission that could be an issue.
