Chessington Upgrades Explorer Carpark

Chessington World Of Adventures
Monday 25th February 2019

For the past few years, the Explorer Carpark at Chessington has caused many issues when it rains or the weather has been partially bad. From cars getting stuck and needing to be pulled free by tractors and generally not being the best place to park your car. On Friday Chessington posted on their social media channels saying the Lodge Gate carpark was full and there was no longer any spaces left. One part of the post confirmed that the park where finally doing something about all of these issues.

“Equally, we know some of you have asked about parking in our Explorer Car Park, however, this is closed at present due to works to improve the parking fields.”

Guests who visit the Go Ape Course have to drive through a small section of the Explorer carpark. Upon driving through the carpark its evident that a lot of work is underway to upgrade it to try to stop these issues. It would appear that the park is planning to tarmac as much of the paths and roads as they can. For the past few years, the park has hired in equipment from external companies to try to control the muddy fields.

One step in the right direction! Hopefully, once the carparks are fixed the park can turn its attention to building a rollercoaster.
