The Smiler delayed until May 2013

SW7 Alton Towers brand new rollercoaster has now had its name officially revealed, The smiler was rumored to be the name after it was trade marked earlier in 2012. So the name of the ride is going to be The smiler the news came out on Monday and the official mini site is now online, on the website we have the usual publicity including a marketing poster showing the ride cars and themeing of the ride. Unlike other secret weapons at alton towers the smiler has got a game coming soon allowing users to control the ride, the game consists of a full 3D recreation of the actual ride. The game is set to come out February 2013, however with the news of the name comes great disappointment which as been being rumored for the past few weeks!

The opening date of the ride has had to be moved from March 16th 2013 to sometime in May 2013. The resort are trying to get a date ASAP but due to the weather the resort had at the end of the year last year ground works and other work has been seriously delayed.
