Ageing of building work
Tuesday 29th December 2015
Since our last look at the project work on theming the outside of the building has continued. On the edges of the building fake pillars are being added to define the structure of the building and help make it look old and abandoned. The brick work shown on the photos below appears to be in three colours at the moment. We believe that the plan brick work wont stay but the black bricks shown on the other photos will be the permanent finish for the building. Archways for the windows appear to be almost finished. However there still seem to be small parts of the building still not water tight. We cant comment about the inside of the attraction as theres no way to see inside however the progress made since our last update looks promising. As shown on one of the photos below workmen where still working on the ride today at 4pm! We cant wait to see how this project progress over the next few months.

Building Gladding Continues
Sunday 15th November 2015
Work seems to have picked up pace since last Sunday with a large proportion of the building now covered in stone bricks. Due to the restricted view from monks walk we couldn't see much however we cannot wait to see how the attraction progresses.

One Final Look At WC16
Monday 9th November 2015
The closed season is finally here and work on WC16 at Thorpe Park can really start to heat up! Over the past few months the park has had to be very careful with what they can do during park hours as anything left on show during this time would be published online by the theme park community or members of the public. Now the doors to the park have closed for the season the park can start work on the ride system and finish building the attraction.

In the photos taken yesterday on the last day of the season we’ve noticed a few things. In the first photo we've noticed that the room above the pit appears to be two stories high! Highlighted in the photo there appears to be a wall suspended in mid air. Could this mystery room lead on from whatever happens in the pit?

Looking at the side of the building towards Tidal Wave the park has kept the space in the side of the building for the big glass window. The building looks to feature three windows all together one at the side and two at the front looking towards Stealth and Nemesis Inferno. Its currently unknown if these windows will be blacked out or real. These windows can be seen on the plans for the attraction.

All the frame work for the building has been constructed with the exception of the plaza theming. Most of the building has now been cladded and some parts of it themed. Outside the building ground works appear to have been started with the fire exits that back onto X being gravelled out and block bricked paved. Strangely foundations appear to be being marked out near one of the fire exits. We believe this will become the work yard? Or possibly just a foundation for the fire exit stairs.

With the building still an empty shell the one question on everyones mind is what are the park putting inside the building? All we currently know is that the attraction will last for 13 minutes and will be the biggest investment Merlin have ever done. With the pit empty and the building still a blank canvas we cant wait to see what the park has in store for us! Your mind is wanted… sign up now at www.mindswanted.co.uk

Derren Brown The Ride
Tuesday 27th October 2015
The islands dark secret is out! Thorpe Park have teamed up with Derren Brown to create a attraction like no other. Since out last update the roof has gone on the building and the building has started to be cladded with wood ready for theming to be added. Brick work has begun near what we believe will become the shop and queue line area. Inside the building it looks like there is a partition being put up to divide the building up. We suspect one side will be one direction and the other the opposite. It is currently unknown what the attraction will be however when on Nemesis Inferno it looks like the park have put platforms in at the other end of the building (towards storm surge). Photos taken from public areas.

WC16 Announcement Prediction
Sunday 25th October 2015
The count down on the WC16 website https://mindswanted.co.uk is almost over! Thorpe Park have  announced on their Facebook page that at 9am tomorrow morning there will be an announcement. Over the past few weeks rumours have been going around about the ride theme and we have decided to put our view out there of what we think the theme of the ride could be.

All the evidence we've found over the past few hours all seems to point to Derren Brown. Back in October 2012 Thorpe Park tweeted our “Does Derren Brown’s Apocalypse remind anyone of #Experiment10 at #FrightNights??” This might have meant nothing back then however Derren Brown has been tweeting a lot recently about “working for 3 years on something new & different, not TV or stage; a world first” It is believed that WC16 will be a words first and it seems strange that three years ago would match up with the tweet Thorpe Park sent out.

And again on social media Friday night and yesterday morning Thorpe Park sent out a photo of 5 actors stood on the bridge at the park all standing like Scarecrows. Then on Saturday morning Derren Brown posted a photo on Twitter saying “Something new is brewing, Derren Brown 2015, Choccy Dusting on coffee” This might mean nothing but the pattern on the coffee matches that the actors are doing.

Let the count down begin, in less than 24 hours it would appear all will be revealed.

Sunday 11th October 2015
Theres a dark secret coming and you’ll be out of your mind to miss it! Spotted in the Thorpe Park Mega Store at Amity Cove the park have begun to sell Minds Wanted 2016 Teaser T-Shirts for £15 each. There are currently three designs. One with the WC16 eye on it, metal cogs and a white shirt with hands on it. Thorpe Park’s next attraction will be “A journey that will wrench you from your cosy everyday existence into a warped new reality. We’ll take you to a place where nothing is ever as it seems and nobody who visits will ever see things the same way again. An experience designed to challenge your perceptions and mean you’ll never look just once again.”

Keep your eyes and mind open, don’t take all you see on appearances alone and you could be one of the first to experience The Island’s newest attraction in 2016.

WC16 The Mystery Continues
Sunday 27th September 2015
WC16, the mystery continues as yet more of the structure is put up and more clues are posted on the minds wanted website. The structure surrounding the pit looks to almost be complete with the first section of what we think will become the shop being built. The roof over the pit has been started with two of the roof beams in place. It would appear that the pit room will be cut off from the rest of the building and will be access via three doors? In the structure facing towards Nemesis Inferno there are three double door size cut outs. Although nothing has been confirmed by the park we think that the theme might be loosely based around the London Underground. Possibly a trackless ride like Ratatouille at Disneyland Paris or maybe something similar to Duel at Alton Towers. Only time will tell but one things for sure, we wont find out until open day next year.

WC16 September Update
Saturday 12th September 2015
Your mind is wanted with Thorpe Parks next big attraction code named WC16, coming 2016. Work has continued over the week to finish building the main structure of the ride building. The building towards X looks to have been finished off with the roof gutters being added to the tops of the building and the emergency exits being added in. Over the past few days lots of strange blue boxes have turned up on site and have been put in the ground near the donut shop. It is currently unknown what these boxes are for however we don't believe it is permanent as the tower plaza theming feature is planed to be further away from the main building.

More metal work has gone up towards the pit and roof tiles have been added to waterproof the new section built. It would seem that the building is being put up around the pit. Could this be a sign that the park will need to crane something into the pit before they put the roof on the building? The access hatch for the ride is facing away from public view and doesn't give much room to bring large items of machinery in and out. The outline of the building also continues to be lined up by bricks ready for the metal sheeting to be added. Comparing the building site from Sunday to today a lot has been done and we wouldn't be surprised if by fright nights the whole building was up.

Project WC16 From Above!
Monday 7th September 2015
With WC16’s foundations complete, work can now continue to finish constructing the shell of the building. Work has progressed well since our last update with more metal girders put in place towards the back of the site. Once section of the building that has taken our eye is the heavily reinforced metal girder facing nemesis inferno. It suggests to us that this will have something attached to it that will be load bearing.

For this update we took to the sky and had a coaster climb of Colossus. From the height of 30m it became clear how big this project really is! Whatever the park are building it has a lot of space to cover. The tunnel in the other building has started to be cladded with what appears to be white plastic. Our VIP hosts for the lift hill walk both talked about how they didn't know anything about it but couldn't wait to see what it is. Stairs have been added into the pit at two entrances one near bush bbq restaurant and the other near the crane. We look forward to seeing what Thorpe Park are building! www.mindswanted.co.uk
