Christmas continues to arrive at Alton Towers

Alton Towers
Wednesday 17th November 2021

Following our article a few weeks ago, stating the arrival of some of the Lightopia props coming into the park, we have a further update after visiting during the 'Run Alton Towers' buyout event that took place last weekend.

Christmas is now starting to arrive even more at the resort as on Towers Street, the area is littered with Christmas Trees and tinsel, and most of the props in Haunted Hollow have now been uncovered, a stage has appeared on Fountain Square (near Hex) as well as plenty around the rest of the Lightopia route, revealing what we will experience when the Lightopia opens at the Resort on November 27th.

In Haunted Hollow, you may see some familiar faces from Scarefest as during part of the trail you can see some of the Freaky Five, as well as many other spooky characters. There are also witches' hats, cauldrons, autumn leaves, and even an emoji or six!

As you enter Haunted Hollow via Forbidden Valley it seems we will transition from Summer in Autumn as at the start of the trail there are parrots, donuts, and popcorn, however, in Forbidden Valley itself, there will be pretzels and even an Oktoberfest sign from the parks recent event, we also saw some props around Katanga Canyon such as berries and even a giraffe!

The Alton Towers Christmas Event will open on November 27th with a Christmas Market available to access free of charge up until 23rd December as the market leaves the resort, however, the optional extras of Lightopia and a few rides and attractions in CBeebies Land, Mutiny Bay, and The World of David Walliams will be open to enjoy up until the 2nd Jan.
